WINFIELD, Kansas - The Seminole State Trojan women played their first tournament of the spring this past week in Winfield. The team played very well for the first tournament and in very windy conditions. "I was very pleased with how the girls handled themselves on the course this week," said Head Coach Nathan Jahn.

On day one, the team carded a 376 in the first round putting them in 2nd place. Even though the winds picked up about 15 mph the second day the Trojans still managed to shoot a similar score in their 2nd round carding a 378. The team finished 2nd out of 8 teams in the tournament. "This was a great way to start the spring semester for the women's team. They will only continue to improve throughout the year," said Coach Jahn. Leading the way for the Trojans was freshman Danielle Rhodes who shot a two day total of 184 placing her 4th. Other Trojans scores are as follows: Dannah Whelan, two day total of 185 placing her 5th; Kandis King, two day total of 187 placing 7th; Shelby Martin, two day total of 199 placing 14th.
