On Wednesday, April 18 the Trojan Softball team will be dedicating their game against Rose State College as "Strike Out Cancer." The day's event will begin shortly before 4 pm at the SSC Softball Complex with a cookout serving free hot dogs. The game will begin with the introduction of the guest of honor and the person throwing out the first pitch of the game, Lorelei Decker. Lorelei is currently a student at Putnam City North High School in Oklahoma City and is battling lymphoma. You are encouraged to donate a bottle of nail polish to Lorelei in lieu of admission. She has started a "Prayer for Polish" chain where she will take the donated nail polish and will paint her finger and toe nails every day and pray for the person that gave her the polish, and in return she hopes they are praying for her as well. In order to support her fight against cancer she will be selling bracelets during the game. The Trojan softball team will be wearing black shirts with different color ribbons on them to signify the various types of cancer that mean something to them.
We hope you will make plans to attend this special event and support the Trojan softball team while bringing recognition to the fight against cancer.
