The Seminole State College women's tennis team recently competed in the 2012 NJCAA National Tournament in Tyler, Texas from May 6-11, 2012. After struggling a bit on day one of the tournament, the SSC ladies fought hard the rest of the week to get into the top 10 in the nation coming in with a 9th place finish. Highlights of the tournament were Steffy Paez at #4 Singles and Taylor Spradlin at #5 Singles, winning four matches in a row to win their respective consolation brackets. The 9th place finish ties SSC's highest finish at the National Tournament in program history, matching the 9th place finish by the 2008-2009 squad. The ladies also finished the season with a dual match record of 16 wins and 9 loses, another program high for wins. Awards will be named in the next few weeks, with a good possibility of some of the ladies being named All-American in tennis as well as academics.
