OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - Seminole State Trojan Celia Respaut, a freshman from Reunion Island, dominated the Oklahoma City Collegiate Open Flight #1 Singles draw this past weekend in Oklahoma City. Respaut did not drop a set, winning four rounds to win the title. "This tournament was one of the best small college tournaments of the fall season," said Head Coach Brian Nelson. "Several NCAA D2, D3, NAIA and ranked junior colleges attended the tournament and Celia proved she will be one of the best players in all of junior college tennis this year. We are ecstatic to have her here at Seminole State, and look forward to watch her progress over the next two years."
Also strong showings of note: Freshmen, Kelsi Lord and Danielle Whitehorn captured the #3 doubles Championship, with four straight wins. With two wins on Friday, Whitehorn and Lord received a default in the Semi-Finals Saturday and then won the Championship Saturday afternoon.
