Hannah Tomlinson was the runner-up in Flight #4 Singles this past weekend in Temple, Texas

The Seminole State Women's Tennis team recently traveled to Temple, Texas to take part in the 16th annual Southwest JUCO Championships. Other ladies teams in attendance were Tyler Jr. College, North Central Texas College, Collin College, Laredo College, and host Temple College.

Highlights from the weekend included:

  • SSC's #2 singles player Shawnee-Ann Brelsford winning her first round match against Collin College's #1 singles player Clorinda Wessels by a score of 3-6; 7-5; 10-7
  • Hannah Tomlinson's runner-up finish in Flight #4 singles; defeating Kim Rodriguez 6-1; 6-0 in the first round; defeating #2 seed Allyson Barnett from Collin College 6-1; 1-6; 11-9 in the semi-finals; losing in the finals to #1 seed Kerry Wiegand from Tyler Jr. College 6-0; 6-1
  • Ashley Bryen and Kirby Shannon's win over North Central Texas College's Elizabeth Arens and Kaitlin Hillebrand 9-8

The Lady Trojans finished in fifth place overall in the tournament.
