After a 17-7 defeat of Eastern Oklahoma State College, the Seminole State College Trojans' legendary baseball coach, Lloyd "Z" Simmons, reached quite the milestone in his coaching career: achieving his 1,800th win during his tenure at SSC. During his tenure at Seminole State, "Z" has accomplished more than just about any other coaches in the history of college baseball, including 15 appearances in the NJCAA College World Series, 5 NJCAA Players of the Year, 2 World Series MVPs, 200 plus professional players, and 43 Major League Baseball players. With all of these impressive accomplishments, there is no doubt that "Z" is one of the greatest coaches to ever step onto a baseball field, at any level.

As is the case for most of Coach Simmons' teams, this year's version of the Trojans are dominating everyone they face. Currently ranked 9th overall in the country, with a record of 37-10, the Trojans have been one of the hottest teams in the country since the beginning of the season for the most part. SSC leads the NJCAA in home runs with 122. Many of those home runs have come from Xavier Freeman (27 HRs, 3rd in NJCAA), Louis Pelletier (23 HRs, 5th in NJCAA), Abraham Toro (17 HRs), and Cameron Warren (16 HRs). The Trojans are also 2nd nationally in RBIs with 512, 3rd in runs with 557, 3rd in batting average with .393, and 4th in hits with 620.

Next up, the Trojans will travel to take on Rose State College on Thursday, May 5th. The game will be played at the Rose State College campus in Midwest City, OK at 2:00 pm.
