news from the Seminole website http://www.sscathletics.com/ Tue, 18 Jun 2013 20:34:22 -0600 FeedCreator 1.7.2 http://www.sscathletics.com/article/430.php <p>Maumelle, AR-The Trojan Men&#39;s golf team competed&nbsp;in the Mustang Invitational&nbsp;at the Country Club of Arkansas in Maumelle, AR this past week.&nbsp; The first day of the tournament was cold and windy, but the team held it together and finished in 1st after the&nbsp;first round.&nbsp; &nbsp;The team shot a first day total of 316, putting them one shot ahead of the host team Central Baptist College.&nbsp; Leading the way for the Trojans was freshman Ryan Stults, who fired an opening round 77.&nbsp; &quot;We had three players who really played consistent today considering the conditions&quot; The 2nd day of the tournament was even better for the men as they fired a team total of 307.&nbsp; This gave the Trojan Men their first tournament victory of the year.&nbsp; They pulled away the 2nd day winning the tournament by 13 shots.&nbsp; Seminole was the only Junior College in the tournament field of 12.&nbsp; &quot;I was very pleased with how the boys played and how they competed with players 2-3 years older than them.&quot;&nbsp; Leading the way the 2nd day was Soph. Tyler Carlson who shot and even round 72.&nbsp; The Trojan Men had three place in the top-5.&nbsp; Tyler Carlson finished 2nd, Ryan Stults 3rd and Freshman Sebastian Otoya finished T-5th.&nbsp; The Trojan men will play their next tournament in OKC at Lake Hefner on April 9th-10th.</p> Brian Nelson Mon, 01 Apr 2013 11:50:00 -0600 http://www.sscathletics.com/article/430.php http://www.sscathletics.com/article/420.php <p>Winfield, KS-The Trojan men&#39;s golf team competed in the South Central Kansas Spring Invite this past week at Quail Ridge G.C. in Winfield, KS.&nbsp; The team battled the wind and near freezing temps both days of competition.&nbsp; The team shot a team total of 311 in the first round, putting them in 5^th out of 12.&nbsp; Leading the way for the team was Soph. Jacee Bowlin who fired an opening round of 74.&nbsp; &quot;We had a couple kids play well and a couple who didn&#39;t today.&quot; &quot;It hurt our team total a little bit but I look for the team to put together a better day tomorrow.&quot; &ndash;Coach Jahn.&nbsp; The second day held better results for the team shooting a final round total of 303.&nbsp; This was the 3^rd best round of the day.&nbsp; However, it was not enough to move the team up any as they finished the tournament in 5^th place.&nbsp; Soph.
