            <title>[Women's Tennis] Women’s Tennis brings home 11th place finish at NJCAA National Championships</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Seminole State women&amp;#39;s tennis team recently competed in the 2013 Women&amp;#39;s NJCAA National Championships in Tucson, Arizona. After five long days of play, SSC finished 11th nationally.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The highlight of the week was a semi-final finish at #2 singles for Shawnee-Ann Brelsford, dropping a close 7-6; 6-3 match to the eventual Flight #2 champion from Georgia Perimeter. Brelsford and doubles parter Helga Pinones-Haltenhoff also teamed up to make the quarter-finals, losing to Tyler Jr. College in a close three set match. TJC went on to win the flight #1 doubles draw with rather easy wins in the semi&amp;#39;s and finals after beating SSC. &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;During the 2012-2013 season, the Lady Trojans gained their highest ever team National Ranking of #5 in NJCAA.             <description>&lt;p&gt;The Seminole State Women&amp;#39;s Tennis team will begin play tomorrow in the 2013 NJCAA Women&amp;#39;s Tennis National Championships in Tucson, Arizona. The round of 32 matches begin tomorrow, Sunday, and team members from SSC include: Helga Pinones-Haltenhoff (#1 Singles), Shawnee-Ann Brelsford (#2 Singles), Kirby Shannon (#3 Singles), Haley Pope (#4 Singles), Hannah Tomlinson (#5 Singles), and Ashley Bryen (#6 Singles).             <title>[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis competes in Southwet JUCO Championships in Temple, Texas</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Seminole State Women&amp;#39;s Tennis team recently traveled to Temple, Texas to take part in the 16&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; annual Southwest JUCO Championships. Other ladies teams in attendance were Tyler Jr. College, North Central Texas College, Collin College, Laredo College, and host Temple College.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Highlights from the weekend included:&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;SSC&amp;#39;s #2 singles player Shawnee-Ann Brelsford winning her first round match against Collin College&amp;#39;s #1 singles player Clorinda Wessels by a score of 3-6; 7-5; 10-7&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Hannah Tomlinson&amp;#39;s runner-up finish in Flight #4 singles; defeating Kim Rodriguez 6-1; 6-0 in the first round; defeating #2 seed Allyson Barnett from Collin College 6-1; 1-6; 11-9 in the semi-finals; losing in the finals to #1 seed Kerry Wiegand from Tyler Jr. College 6-0; 6-1&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ashley Bryen and Kirby Shannon&amp;#39;s win over North Central Texas College&amp;#39;s Elizabeth Arens and Kaitlin Hillebrand 9-8 &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Lady Trojans finished in fifth place overall in the tournament.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Next up:&amp;nbsp; April 22&lt;sup&gt;nd&lt;/sup&gt;, vs. Oklahoma Baptist University at Shawnee, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Women's Tennis] Lady Trojans go 2-1 on Kansas Trip</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Seminole State women&amp;#39;s tennis team recently traveled to Kansas to play three dual matches.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;On Thursday, March 28&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt;, 2013, SSC faced off against Southwestern College from Winfield, Kansas. The dual match was played in Arkansas City, Kansas at Ark City High School, as Seminole State won by a final score of 5-4. The Lady Trojans picked up wins at #1 (Pinones-Haltenhoff/Brelsford) and #3 (Bryen/Shannon) doubles and also got singles wins at #1 (Helga Pinones-Haltenhoff), #2 (Shawnee-Ann Brelsford) and #5 (Hannah Tomlinson).&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The next day, Friday, March 29&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt;, 2013 the ladies would then play two matches. First up was a dual match vs. Seward County CC from Liberal, Kansas. This was the third time to play Seward in a dual this year, as SSC once again took the win by a final score of 5-1.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The second match of the day was against host Cowley College. Seminole started the match off on a good note, getting wins at #1 and #3 doubles, giving them a 2-1 advantage going into singles. Only needing 3 singles wins to clinch the match, the Lady Trojans could not quite accomplish that only getting wins at #2 and #6 singles and dropping the dual match 5-4. Two other singles matches were lost in third set super tie-breakers, but Seminole was unable to grab either of those which could have turned the match around.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The matches improved the Lady Trojans record to 8-5 overall on the year.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Next up: Monday, April 1&lt;sup&gt;st&lt;/sup&gt;, 2013 vs. East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma at 1:00 pm.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Women's Tennis] Women's tennis drops a close one 5-4 to Johnson County Kansas</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Seminole State College women&amp;#39;s tennis team recently competed against Johnson County CC from Overland Park, Kansas. The Trojan women were ranked #8 in NJCAA coming into the contest, with the Johnson women ranked #9.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Johnson came out strong in doubles play, defeating the top doubles pair from Seminole Helga Pinones-Haltenhoff/Shawnee-Ann Brelsford by a score of 8-3. Hannah Tomlinson and Haley Pope would also lose their match, by a score of 8-0 at #2 doubles. The #3 doubles team of Kirby Shannon and Ashley Bryen would not do the same, dominating their match 8-3 and making the score 2-1 Johnson after doubles play.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In the six singles matches played, the Seminole women would split and win three. Shawnee-Ann Brelsford won her match at #2, Hannah Tomlinson won her match at #5, and Ashley Bryen won her match at #6. This was not enough though team wise as SSC fell 5-4 to Johnson.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Next up:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Thursday, March 28th, 2013 vs. Southwestern College Kansas @ Arkansas City, Kansas at 2:00 pm&lt;/p&gt;</description>

            <title>[Women's Tennis] Lady Trojans fall 6-3 to NCAA D2 University of Arkansas-Ft. Smith</title>

            <description>&lt;p&gt;The Seminole State College women&amp;#39;s tennis team opened their season on Friday, losing 6-3 to NCAA Division 2 University of Arkansas-Ft Smith.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The Lady Trojans were able to pick up three victories, winning at #1 doubles was the pair of Helga Pinones-Haltenhoff and Shawnee-Ann Brelsford by a score of 8-4. The same two ladies also picked up two more team points by winning at #1 singles and #2 singles.             <title>[Women's Tennis] Lady Trojan tennis earns highest national ranking in program history</title>

            <description>&lt;div&gt;The Seminole State College Lady Trojan tennis team recently received their highest national team ranking in program history, entering the 2012-2013 season as the fifth ranked team in the USA. The rankings came out November 8th, and are done by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Tyler Jr. College from Texas was ranked #1, State College of Florida #2, ASA from New York #3, Collin College from Plano, Texas #4, and Seminole State #5.&lt;/div&gt;
