Volleyball Tryout Set for March 30

Seminole State College volleyball will conduct an open tryout at:

1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30.

The tryout, which will be in the Harber Field House on the campus of Seminole State College, Seminole, OK, is open to high school seniors. All participants must register in advance.

[Volleyball] Lady Trojans defeat NOC Enid at home on Dig Pink/Breast Cancer awareness night

The Seminole State College Trojan volleyball team defeated the Jets from Northern Oklahoma College @ Enid last night by a score of 25-17; 25-17; 23-25; 25-17.

This was also a special night for everyone involved as two SSC employees, Dianna O'Connell and Tracy Jacomo, were honored at intermission.

The win moves SSC's overall record to 22-12 on the season and 2-1 in conference.

Next up: Tonight, 10/24/2012 at El Reno, Oklahoma vs. Redlands Community College at 6:00 PM.

[Volleyball] Trojan Volleyball picks up conference win over NOC Enid

The Seminole State College Volleyball team picked up a conference win tonight over Northern Oklahoma Enid, by a final score of 25-16, 25-23, 25-11.

The win moves the Lady Trojans overall record to 21-12 overall, and 1-1 in conference.

[Volleyball] Lady Trojan Volleyball loses in Championship match at 2012 OZFest Invitational in ...

The Seminole State College Lady Trojans volleyball team recently had a solid weekend, making it all the way to the championship game at the 2012 OZFest Invitational in Liberal, Kansas hosted by Seward County Community College.

SSC started off the weekend Friday by losing to eventual tournament Champion Missouri West Plains in four sets, but came back to win Friday evening over Frank Phillips College in straight sets.

On Saturday, the Lady Trojans would win two straight matches, over host Seward County in just three sets and also in a tough five set match over Western Texas College to send them to the Championship game vs. Missouri State West Plains.

In the Championship match, the Grizzlies from Missouri West Plains proved once again to be too much for SSC, taking the title 27-25, 25-18, 25-21.

[Volleyball] Lady Trojans Fall at Butler CC in Four Sets

The Seminole State College women's volleyball team traveled to El Dorado, Kansas September 17, 2012 to take on the Butler Community College Grizzlies. SSC took the first set by a score of 25-20, but eventually went down in four sets with a final score of 20-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-19 in favor of Butler.

SSC Coach Doug Byrd said, "Butler played a good match against us. They really blocked well tonight, which made for a long evening for us. We were never able to get on track and play our game. I am proud of the girls, even though they did not play very well and some calls went against us, I feel like we never gave up."

The SSC Ladies are now 10-5 over all on the season and next play at Hutchison, Kansas this coming Friday, September 21, 2012.
